Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Saguaro Correctional Center

Position is 30 Hours Per Week

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.

Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.

Records physical findings, formulates prognosis based on patient's condition and discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

Recommends drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure.

Must have active Arizona license, DEA and BLS.  Correctional health care experience preferred.

Compensation: $100,000 -$175,000/ yr

Saguaro Correctional Center is located in Eloy, AZ. Eloy is located in West Central Pinal County, approximately 45 to 55 minutes outside of Phoenix.  According to CNN MoneyWatch,  Eloy has the fastest growing housing markets.  With its beautiful scenery and year around activities, Eloy is a great place to live.

Saguaro Correctional Center houses Hawaii, Virgin Islands and US Marshall overflow adult male inmates.  There is a clinic that has 24-hour nursing staff, provider coverage during the day, dental staff and mental health staff.

Physician - La Palma Correctional Center

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.

Provide a variety of professional medical services to inmates to include administering examinations, diagnosing medical and other problems, prescribing medications and providing treatment and follow-up care.

Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates.

Make clinic rounds

Participate in treatment team meetings where individual health plans of inmates are devised, reviewed and altered.

Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.

Accept on-call status.

Must have active Arizona license Must be board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with DEA and BLS.

Salary: $300,000-$325,000/yr

La Palma Correctional Center houses male inmates. It has a full clinic with day provider coverage, 24-hour nursing coverage. The clinic has a dental staff, mental health staff  and medical staff.

Eloy is located in West Central Pinal County, approximately 50 miles outside of Tucson, AZ.
