Health care delivery in a correctional setting is challenging and rewarding. It offers fulfilling opportunities for health care providers to sharpen their clinical skills, utilize cutting-edge technology, and actively manage patients, free from many of the bureaucratic processes found in traditional health care settings.

Position is 30 hours per week.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Typical duties include managing the operation and providing overall direction and leadership to the provision of mental health services to the facility. The Psychiatrist has the primary responsibility of providing administrative and clinical coordination for the comprehensive mental health program for the patients. Prescribes and monitors psychotropic medications for patients.  

Must have active New Mexico license, DEA and BLS .

Prefer Psychiatrist to provide services in person, but may be done remotely or a combination of in person and remote.

Compensation: $275,000 - $350,000/yr

About the Facility:

Cibola County Correctional Center is located approximately 80 miles west of Albuquerque. It houses approximately 1100 ICE and US Marshall detainees.
